The patented SolidStar™ solids conveying screw is designed for applications with non-melting solids materials such as stone, steel, and fiberglass. The screw provides dramatic increases in screw life when compared with traditional threezone designed screws. Processors can run abrasive fillers, including mineral-filled, carbide-filled, or sand-filled materials.

While many variables affect screw longevity, plastics manufacturers working with nonmelting abrasive materials generally measure screw life in days and months instead of years. The SolidStar™ screw has reportedly been proven to last from several months to more than a year. The screws can be custom fit per application, require no special barrel assembly, and are priced comparably to traditional tool steel screws.
