Most injection screws are made from 4140 or Nitralloy 135M. These
screws are normally chrome-plated or nitrided. Wear resistance
can
be improved by applying hard surfacing to the flight tops. In recent
years, due to newly engineered resins, many molders have found
the
need to replace those screws with through-hardened, tool steel screws.
Concor specializes in the manufacturing of custom-designed,
through-hardened screws(CPM 9V, Vanadis 4, D2). |

Concor specializes in rebuilding through-hardened screws, so to
ensure rebuildability, make sure you buy your original
tool steel screws from Concor.
