Extrusion Screws ::
|
| Most
extrusion screws are made from 4140 and chrome plated with some type
of hardsurfacing on the flight tops. L/D ratios tend to be greater
than injection screws, but typically have similar feed, transition,
and metering sections. These screws are often designed with some type
of mixing section and/or barrier flight. Concor can help you determine
the best screw material and design for your application. Concor has
been manufacturing smaller diameter extruders out of through-hardened
tool steels. |
|
Flight OD wear resistance can be improved by welding a hard surfacing
material to the top of the flights. These materials vary in hardness,
resistance to cracking, abrasion and corrosion. |
